I'm visiting the Utilita Arena - What's your distance from the Arena and do you cater for pre-show drinks?
We're a 1 minute walk away from the Arena, head for Kingston Row and follow the signs down to The Flapper.We are a very popular venue for pre-show drinks and food, especially in the Summer months.Do we play songs of the artist performing that night at the Arena? Yes of course we do!! We're always up for starting the party early.Weekends night were open until 1am, so why not join us for a drink after the show!
Do you accept cash and card payments?
As of 1st December 2023 we are a cashless venue. The only exceptions are the pool tables which take £1 coins. Some shows will take cash on the door payments - enquire individually for this information.There is a no spend limit on our card payments - however, we do not offer cash back services.The closest ATM machine is located over at the Utilita Arena - by the box office doors. The second closest is Brindley Place.
What forms of ID do you accept?
The Flapper operates the Challenge 25 Policy; which means anyone who looks to be under the age of 25 years will be challenged to prove his or her age to buy alcohol. We are strictly an 18+ venue.Please ensure you bring ID to the venue. Accepted forms of ID are Drivers License (full or provisional), or a Passport (valid) or Citizenship Card with the PASS hologram and SIA logo. Any ID found to be fraudulent will be confiscated and handed over to the police.We also reserve the right to bag search; and any alcohol found that has not been purchased from the venue will be confiscated. We have a zero tolerance policy to drugs and the harassment of staff and customers within the premises. Anyone found disregarding our policies will be asked to leave and potentially barred from the venue.
Is your Quiz Night weekly?
Yes it is!Our Thursday nights are our famous Quiz Night starting from 7:30pm.It's every week (unless stated on socials) and costs £1 per person to enter.
Does the venue have WiFi?
Yes, we have Wifi available for customer use.

What is the parking situation?
Due to our City Centre location parking is very limited around the venue; there are a few pay and display spaces located at the top of Kingston Row.Main multi-storey parking areas are Brindley Place, Paradise Circus Car Park, Utilita Arena Car Park, Broad Street area and also some side streets off King Edwards Rd with pay and display spaces.
Does the venue have disabled access?
As a 1950's building, The Flapper does not meet specific disabled access requirements for general pub access and gig venue access. However we can accommodate, so please drop us an email to theflapperbirmingham@gmail.com and we will get back to you to discuss what can be done.

Are you a dog friendly pub?
Yes, we are a dog friendly pub; all we ask is that your pooches are kept on a lead at all times when on the premises (this includes in our beer garden). If you need some water, please just ask at the bar.
